Time to Repent

Today is the Time to Repent
 8/6/23 Sunday service CWC

1. It is usually very safe to tell a sinner to repent from their sins

it’s not remorse or guilt
conviction of sin and strong fear of hell is not repentance
feeling sorry you are in sin is not repentance

Repentance is a change of mind regarding sin
it’s a change of feelings also
a change of conduct

changing your views feelings and conduct

repentance always implies hatred of sin. it is feeling exactly as God feels

Acts 3:19 "Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,"

When talking with sinners tell them they need to repent.

2. Tell sinners to believe the Gospel to believe means there’s an action that takes place with there belief

John 3:36:  Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Have you told a sinner to believe in Jesus?

3. Direct sinners to give their hearts to the Lord

1 John 5:3.  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

This week direct a sinner to give their heart to the Lord.

4. tell a sinner to submit to God what true submission is, it’s obeying God! he must cease striving against his maker and take the attitude of an obedient child. willing to be and do whatever God requires

Exodus 19:5. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;

5. tell a sinner to confess and forsake your sins to make restitution with all people and make it right.
Proverbs 28:13.  Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Tell a sinner he must go make it right with family or friends or co-workers

6. another way is to choose you today whom you will serve. tell sinners to choose who they will serve God or the world.
Joshua 24:15.And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Tell a sinner to make a choice to go there as you talk to them about their salvation.
